BioComp Delivers 99%+ Accurate Performance Predictions and
Product Optimization

BioComp Systems announced today the deployment of their Process Intellect™ system in what is soon to become the world's largest oil and gas processing operation. Process Intellect is delivering over 99% accurate predictions of product performance, providing operators an extremely accurate forward-looking view of product performance even before detection by on-line sensors. As operators make process adjustments, product performance unfolds dynamically before them, showing them the impact of their decisions.
Additionally, Process Intellect is delivering setpoint recommendations that enable product performance to be precisely targeted to specifications, enabling them to automatically manage performance in closed loop operations. Process Intellect detects impending product non-conformance and formulates alternative solutions, selects the best and implements the solution automatically on-line.
In this implementation, Process Intellect processes sub-second extracts of process data from OSI's PI Data Archive, calculates accurate estimates of product quality and writes the results back to the PI system, historized and then sent on to a Yokogawa Distributed Control System (DCS) for immediate feed back to operators. This reduces the cycle time between process changes and product quality results from approximately 15-20 minutes to sub-second.
Maintaining BioComp's record of "same day predictions", the system was installed, configured and 99% accurate performance predictions were put into service by lunchtime on the first day.
