With Dakota R/T, you can create signals for a wide range of securities, foreign and domestic. Use the built-in or the ever-growing list of downloadable trading "bots" to get started quickly and easily, or create new or enhance your existing trading systems by implementing them as self-adapting "ScriptBots" within Dakota R/T. You can also take full control of your trading signals with ScriptSTOPS, which support not only exiting positions, but also entering as well. Make use of the latest trading technologies to create adaptive trading systems that are less brittle going forward in time, protecting your assets.
Dakota R/T obtains its streaming quotes from a wide variety of data providers via Medved's QuoteTracker (www.quotetracker.com) so that we may focus on equity performance rather than feed interfacing. Dakota R/T comes with a Tick Historian that streams these quotes to disk, converts them into ticks and eventually into one of four configurable bar types (time, tick, range and volume).
Receive technical support from helpful qualified support staff with decades of combined experience. As Mr. P. M. in Virginia says... "I do want to express my gratitude for the level of support BioComp provides. I work in the technology field and would be hard pressed to find any company that even comes close to your level of support and professionalism." - October 29th, 2006. What's more, you can join in the community of Dakota users in the Forums, a free discussion area where users share tips, techniques and experiences. Additionally, you can participate in workshops along side theminds behind the product, and your peers, for an excellent learning experience.
Dakota is delivered via web download and/or CD and runs on all editions of Windows 2000 and XP. It is crafted especially to fully utilize multi-CPU and multi-core chips.
Live Streaming Data from One of Many Feeds
Dakota R/T gets streaming quotes via Medved's QuoteTracker (www.quotetracker.com), very likely including your current feed. Take look at QuoteTracker's full list of feeds
Adaptation, Not Optimization
Dakota adapts your trading systems, not optimizes them. Optimization tends to perch a trading system on a transient, short-lived peak of equity while adaptation enables on-going adjustment to enhance equity.
Walk-Forward Out-of-Sample Results
Dakota walks your swarms of trading systems forward, adapting bar-by-bar, providing 100% "out-of-sample" performance so you can see what reality is. This makes Dakota an excellent testing platform.
Use Pre-Made Trading "Bots" or Write Your Own
Dakota comes with a variety of trading bots (adaptive systems) in the setup or available for download from the Forums. You can write your own in Visual Basic too.
Built-In Tick Historian
Dakota comes with a Tick Historian that receives quotes from QuoteTracker, sends them to disk in a convenient text format and serves up ticks and bars to Dakota R/T
Diverse Bar Types
Convert tick and bar data to one of 4 styles of bars: Time (N seconds, minutes, hours, days, etc.), N ticks per bar, volume per bar and Range per bar.
Built-In, Opt-In Knowledge Base
Stand on the shoulders of giants and capitalize on the results of others with Dakota's "Knowledge Base". Users opt-in to upload information about the systems they build and information about the resulting performance so you can quickly enjoy the benefits.

In Dakota's new proprietary BioComp Swarm Technologies™, collections of trading "bots" cooperate and adapt their trading systems parameters in real-time to react to changing market conditions. Examples of trading system parameters include the periods of a moving cross-over system, or the length of a momentum, or any other key trading system adjustable factor. There is no limit to the number of parameters than can be adapted.
Dakota does not "optimize", but it's adaptive "flocking" algorithms enable a collection of your trading systems (bots) to communicate with each other every bar to move towards higher equity solutions dynamically. As the markets change the bots in the more profitable spaces will let the neighboring bots "know" and the collection of trading bots moves towards the more profitable space. You receive entry/exit signals based on either the average, the best or the top-N bots.
Dakota provides "Walk-Forward" adaptation, providing you with 100% "out-of-sample" results so you can clearly see which trading systems work, and those that don't.
Real-time Data Processing
R/T streams quotes from QuoteTracker, logs them to disk, forms ticks which are processed into bars as they arrive. Use millions of rows of tick history or bars to back-test your results before going live.
