BioComp Profit 8

Profit 8

It's All About Profit

There is trading software in abundance, but few are focused on the one most important aspect of trading: Profit.  BioComp Profit is an end-of-day financial market "Signal Generator" tool that provides you profitable guidance in trading index futures, funds, stocks, commodities, bonds, currencies and other tradable securities. Profit’s profit-optimizing technologies are targeted at maximizing your profits and delivering you smooth, consistent returns as it forecasts the rise and fall of your favorite securities.

The Essentials of How Profit Works

With Profit, you import raw securities data, build indicators then use those indicators as alternative inputs to an [input and predictive model] search process. Many models are built and the top N on a performance basis are brought into Profit to act as a "committee" of models. The models' signals are combined to create a "System Model" which is intended to be more robust. Optional stops are applied. You save your system(s) and each day update your data and open your Profit systems and view current performance and signals.

What's New in Profit 8?

Almost everything. BioComp Profit 8 is not just a new version of a well established product, it is a complete re-write in Microsoft .NET 2.0 and Visual Studio 2008. Not only did we fully bring it up to date to the current software development technologies, but we also based it on our new commercial process intelligence server, Intellect 3.0. This opens vast new opportunities for sophisticated predictive analytics, including snap-together data processing, optimization, distributed multi-processing and much more.

We also gained experience with BioComp Dakota over the last 2 years and have brought some of these good features to Profit, including multiple systems in use at the same time and changing Profit to be a framework with a high degree of customizability. Now many of Profit's key calcuation points are add-ins, enabling development-skilled users to create their own capabilities.

One Product, 2 Licensing Plans

We are offering one level of Profit 8 until we release the "Elite" version, but for our heavy-duty users, you can buy one license at a time or go UNLIMITED, which allows you unlimited licenses for your personal use of Profit 8. UNLIMITED is only available for our GOLD and PLATINUM Preferred Customers.

  • Dakota or Profit?

So, what it the difference between BioComp Dakota and BioComp Profit?

First, the similarities. They are both "signal generators", which means they create market long/short/out signals. They do not replace other trading system products, like Tradestation or AmiBroker, but create signals you can use straight-away or in concert with your favorite trading software.

Now, the differences: Dakota enables you to adaptively walk-forward scripted (programmed) trading systems. You have to write or use other's trading systems. Profit, on the other hand, "fuses together" indicators in a model-search technology in to create market long/short/out signals. Essentially it is writing blackbox trading systems for you.

Both have advantages. Both have strengths. That is why we created, maintain and sell both.

Some people successfully use Profit signals in Dakota. Some people use Dakota signals in Profit. Some people create signals with each and then compare.

DISCLAIMER: BioComp Profit is not a trading system.  It is a software tool for creating market timing models. BioComp Profit's output is not, and should not be considered, trading advice. This web page and others associated with it on this web site may make statements regarding performance of market timing systems created using BioComp Profit or for trading and/or trading systems to which BioComp Profit may contribute information.  This performance is hypothetical or, such in the case of performance statements by customers or members of the press, cannot be or have not been substantiated by records of actual trading and thus must be treated as hypothetical.  Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain inherent limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not actually been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown.
